A vetted coach delivers a weekly lesson for 30 weeks, in class time or as an after-school club. Coaches are police-verified and trained on our curriculum before they set foot in a school.

A curriculum that assumes nothing

We start from 'this is a rook' and finish with real tactical understanding. Workbooks in English, Hindi and the state language, mapped to 30 sessions.

Equipment that stays with you

Tournament chess sets, demonstration boards and pupil workbooks — provided free and owned by the school from day one.

Free teacher training

We train two members of your staff so the club survives after our coach moves on. No prior chess knowledge required.

An online academy

Every enrolled pupil gets an account on this site with structured courses, quizzes and progress tracking their teachers can see.

For children who catch the bug, we help schools connect with their state chess association and find local rated play.

Getting started

From application to first lesson

Apply

Complete the enrolment form — five minutes, no commitment. You will need your school's basic details and a contact person.

We review

Our programme team reviews your application, usually within two working days, and calls to discuss timetabling, funding and coach availability in your district.

Approval and join code

Once approved, your school dashboard unlocks and a unique join code is generated. That code is what lets your pupils create their own accounts.

Programme begins

Equipment is delivered, your coach is introduced, two staff members start their training, and the first lesson goes in the timetable.

The things schools always ask

What does the programme cost a school?

For private schools we charge a per-pupil fee that covers the coach, equipment and training — typically ₹450 to ₹900 per child for the 30-week programme, depending on group size and location. For government and low-fee schools the programme is generally free, funded by our donors and state partnerships. We will tell you which applies to you before you commit to anything.

Do our teachers need to know how to play chess?

No. Our coaches deliver the lessons, and our free forty-hour teacher training starts from the rules. Most of the teachers we train had never played a serious game before.

How much class time does it take?

One 40-minute session a week for 30 weeks. Schools run it either in a timetabled slot — most often in place of one library or activity period — or as an after-school club.

Which classes is it suitable for?

The core programme is designed for Classes 3 to 8. We have run it successfully with Class 2 where the school wanted to, and we support secondary clubs for children who want to continue.

Are your coaches vetted?

Yes. Every coach completes police verification, child-protection training and our own curriculum training before working in a school. Coaches never work unsupervised with a class.

How long does approval take?

We usually respond to a school application within two working days and can normally start within a term, subject to coach availability in your district.
