Girls in Chess expands to four more states

Girls in Chess, launched in three Hyderabad schools in 2023, will expand to Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand and Assam this academic year.

The initiative pairs all-girls clubs with women coaches and runs girls-only tournaments alongside the open events. In schools where it has run for two years, the proportion of girls still playing in Class 8 is more than three times the national average.

We are actively recruiting women coaches in all four new states. Prior competitive experience is welcome but not required — we train from scratch.
